Striped Resin Gradient

Laminating a board is a highly technical skill; a physical dance requiring graceful precision and speed, and an art of chemistry and color theory.

Due to the liquid nature of resin, it is almost impossible to achieve clean lines without taping or cutting individual shapes. For years, I’ve wondered if there was a way to have all the resin land on the board in one instant, and then carefully remove the excess, without bleed or dragged smearing…

After many different experiments and attempts, I finally dreamt up, designed, and engineered a contraption to achieve my intended design.

13 boards, each with 42 individual stripes - 21 hand-mixed colors to create a gradient, and 21 clear in-between.
